How To Make Money With YouTube

How To Make Money With YouTube

Who hasn’t heard of YouTube?

As one of the most popular web portals around, YouTube has become a phenomenon that is part of many people’s lives.  As a video sharing website where anyone can upload their videos to share to the world, it has amassed quite a volume of videos for anyone to browse, allowing people to choose the content they want to watch. How To Make Money With YouTube.

YouTube is undeniably the most popular online video sharing site, and if you upload your own video, it has the potential of being viewed by a large audience. If you’re aiming for self-promotion, having your video on YouTube will help you achieve that.

But did it ever cross your mind that you can make money on YouTube? Apparently, there are many ways to do that, and countless people are already using YouTube to earn money online.

One way to make money with YouTube is uploading your own videos with inline ads displayed within the video and on your video page.  You can use ads served by AdSense, the most widely used online contextual ad network, which works like any other pay-per-click program.

The very nature of YouTube allows you to generate traffic to your video page, bringing more people to see your uploaded videos as well as the ads on your video page.  That could lead to more click throughs which translate to more income for you.

If you have a blog, you can go right ahead to monetizing it using YouTube. YouTube allows you to upload their videos and add them to your blogs, and then you can place relevant ads from Google AdSense or sell ad space on your blog.  Make sure you put up quality video content, increasing your chances to become a premium publisher and have a higher revenue potential.

If you don’t have a blog, create one using any free blogging platform that you can find online. Most of them are user-friendly and you don’t need to have a background or skills in programming to do it. You need to promote your blog to generate traffic, and when visitors to your blog click on your ads, you get paid for that.  It’s as easy as that.

Some people drive traffic to their blogs by placing videos that have a very high viewing rate.  This is because popular videos are normally searched by a growing number of people, and this gets your blog indexed by the search engines and consequently places your blog onto a higher rank.  That gives you a bigger chance of getting more people to view the video you have embedded in your site, translating to more people clicking on the ads or the links provided, and giving you higher earning potential.

Escalate traffic to your blog by posting comments in other blogs and providing a link back to your site, or placing links to social networking sites where your network of friends, family and colleagues can help you drive traffic to your site.

If you regularly upload new and creative videos and have a solid subscriber base generating a high volume of views and comments, you can apply for the YouTube Partner Program where YouTube gives their partners the opportunity to monetize their video and share the profits with them.  This program also has other benefits like YouTube featuring their partners on their homepage to give them wider exposure and helping them learn how to increase their viewership.

Utilise YouTube to increase your sales if you are selling an item online by using royalty-free videos relevant to what you are selling.  You can also bring viewers of your YouTube page to your sales page by linking them.

You can also create your own video about your products where you can talk about your goods and its selling points. Make sure you place a link in your video where people can find your product.  You can also sell affiliate products on your video, recommending to your viewers the products or services of other people.

Opportunities to make money with YouTube come in many different variations, so you need to do your research to find the one best suited for you. The basics are the same; you’ll need a PC with internet access, a YouTube account, your blog, web page or website, and your handy video camera, or the very least, a webcam.  If you follow all the tips and principles of making money with YouTube, it might just give you that regular cash flow you’ve been looking for.

How to Make Money Blogging

Have you been blogging all these years and never thought it could bring you some profit? Or have you heard about people earning from blogging but never took the time to explore it, thinking that all the hype about making money from blogging is just that – hype.

To date, there are millions of bloggers around the globe, sharing their thoughts and opinions to the world. By now many have realised that blogging has the capacity to generate income for the blogger as well. While we do not know how many of them actually earn, the fact is, there are successful bloggers who make real money from blogging.  Many even start their own online business through blogging.

But how do you do that?

It does not matter what age you are, or what your social status is, or what country you are in; blogging is a universal undertaking that can do by anyone who owns or has access to a computer and the Internet.  So if you have access to both, you can start blogging and make money from it.

If you already have a blog, read on and find out how you can make a profit out of it. If you are a beginner, you can take advantage of free blog services that you can set up in minutes that will host your blog for you for free. Be advised, though, that using these free blogging accounts limits your control over your blog, and having complete freedom with your blog is important.

Free blog services normally have terms and conditions that will curtail your opportunity to make more money from blogging as they can place restrictions on what you do with your blog, like promoting product or services.  If you are serious about wanting to make money blogging, it is important to have complete control over your blog by setting it up under your own domain name.

There will be a cost involved – buying your domain name and setting up a web server that will host your blog.  But this should be quite minimal and something that you can recoup many times over once you have started monetizing your blog.

You’ll then need a theme and an attractive layout for your blog; you can even get ideas from countless templates & free themes you can find online.  Your theme normally relates to your topic, which you will be regularly writing about, so your topic must be something you find interesting or you are passionate about.

The blogs you make must have valuable content for people to want to read it. You wouldn’t waste your time reading something that does not give you value, right? Your blogs must also be original writing.  Churning out original content, especially content that will have timeless and genuine value will attract more visitors.

The next step is to generate traffic for your blog.  Traffic can make or break your goal of earning money from blogging as it fuels the opportunity for generating income from it. The more visitors your blog gets, the higher the chances of earning through the various streams of income you’ve created on your blog.

You can create traffic by joining social bookmarking and networking sites. You can also provide links to your blog when you create your profile online or attach the link at the end of your articles when writing for article directories.

The internet is full of tips on how to generate traffic for your blog; it pays to do earnest research.

Once these gets rolling, and especially if your blog catches the interest of readers, you will have built a loyal readership over time. The more people you have reading your blogs, the higher chances of earning money and income from it.

Now comes the crucial part – monetizing your blog. There are many ways to do this, and if you created a mix of ways to earn from blogging, those several streams of income will yield you more revenue as time goes by.

You can put up ads that pay per click, pay per impression or for a fixed amount monthly. If you are blogging about a certain cause that has followers, you can ask for donations where you get a share of the contributions.

You can also get paid for blogging about a specific topic, such as writing a review of a certain product or service.  You can also insert in your blog posts your recommendation of certain products of people or companies who will be willing to pay you if it results to actual purchases by your readers.

You can explore other means of income generation, like selling ad space on your blog or putting up ads for individual advertisers for a specific period.  This is possible especially if you already have a credible reputation as a blogger that generates a lot of traffic and revenue.

You can even sell your blog to make a profit out of it and create a new one with a new theme, layout, and subject.

You don’t need to focus on one source of income; think multiple sources.  That way if one source dries up, you still have others to supply you with a steady income.  Keep exploring other sources for future use to keep your paychecks coming.  Don’t be discouraged with small payouts, they eventually add up, especially if you get it from several sources.

Just think, getting income from doing something at home, using your own ideas and creativity, and in your own sweet time. Once you’ve spent some time working on making money from blogging, you’ll become savvier in this business, which in turn can assure you of a consistent and reliable source of income that can give you the lifestyle you want, and more.

Starting An Online Business

Starting an online business can be a worrying time. There seems to be so much to learn.  Your aim is simple: to make money online.  But how do you go about it? Where should you begin? What is the right product or niche that will suit you best?  Will it cost a lot before you make anything?

When we started online marketing we made all sorts of mistakes. These were both demoralising and a waste of time. Some cost us a great deal of money. But in the end, we found the right way for us and now have several money-making businesses up and running.

From this experience, we now know how to avoid the common mistakes and dead ends, how to get value for money and how to reach that goal of making money online.

To start, however, you need to learn the basics of internet marketing.

To earn money online there are only two basic methods:

  • Sell your own product, or
  • Sell somebody else’s product and get paid a commission for doing it

Most people starting an online business do not have their own products or sales organisation so the second option would be better for them. It is known as Affiliate Marketing and thousands, perhaps millions, of people make a very good income from it. And there is always room for new businesses, even in that crowded diet and dog training niches. It is quite amazing how easily a new marketing website can squeeze in and make its own mark in any sector.

How To Start

To start an online business you do not necessarily need a website, but it is a little bit more difficult without one. I feel more comfortable making and owning my own website, which I can control and monitor my way, so let’s take a look at what that involves.

Any good website includes the following:

  • design, content and monetization (how it makes money)
  • good copywriting (see how to write copy)
  • publishing it successfully on the internet
  • choosing and incorporating the affiliate links
  • ranking the new website in the top search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask)
  • arranging a good payment system (such as Clickbank) and getting payments regularly
  • checking progress
  • testing alternative settings for better results

To be successful, your business will need all of these to be done properly.  This is a lot to get right until you know how to start an online business, so good practical instruction from an expert is invaluable.

How To Learn

Individual coaching from a marketing expert (the so-called guru) is the best, but also the most costly, way. You would need to budget on spending several thousand dollars, which is not really an option for most beginners.

Easily the best value for money is a good set of practical videos from a marketing professional.  This should teach you precisely the right steps to building a good income website, how to expand it over time, and how to constantly improve it.  You will want well written notes to accompany the videos, as well as a technical help system if needed.

Creating a new online business will, like any other venture, require some investment in time and money, but it need not take too much of either if you find and use a good training system to get started.  Then you will have the confidence to build an income website, knowing that you are covering all the bases properly.

The Solution

I tried a number of video courses before I found the right one for me. This was the AffiloBlueprint 2.0 affiliate marketing course, and it is perhaps the best affiliate training portal currently available on the internet. It has over 45 step-by-step and very detailed instructional videos, covering all the essential points and very easy to understand. Good fun, too.  There is also an active and highly practical forum which I use all the time, and their technical support is first class.

Best of all, they give you a whole lot of tools and software to help design your own website, monitor progress, research keywords and all the other things you will need to build and expand your new venture.

Really good value for money and I strongly recommend it as the best way to learn how to start an online business.

That first sale will give you quite an adrenaline rush!

Good SEO Techniques

Assuming that you have done your SEO training and applied all the good SEO techniques – found the right keyword, written a good article and got some good backlinks – what do you do then? Well, you could sit back and wait for the visitors and sales to roll in. The problem is that you might have to wait quite a long time, and possibly nothing might happen at all.

There are 4 main reasons why this might happen:

  • the search engines have not found your web page
  • your keyword is not as good as you think it is
  • your web page content is not sufficiently focused or interesting
  • your backlinks are not relevant

So you might need to improve your on-page SEO. One of our favourite tools for analysing and improving our web pages is the free version of Traffic Travis. Yes, it really is free for as long as you want but, once you start developing multiple sites (which you will), you will probably want to buy the bigger and better Professional version.  The Standard (free) version is perfectly good for newbies, though.

Clearly, it is important that the search engines find your web page as soon as possible.  They do this by using robot electronic devices called spiders that constantly roam the internet looking for new pages and for changes to existing pages. Luckily these spiders tend to be very efficient, so usually find your page very soon after it has been uploaded (published) on the internet.

But good search engine optimisation techniques suggest that you should still tell them about any new page and, if your web design software does not already have one, it is easy to find a plug-in that will do it automatically for you. I use the WordPress Google XML Sitemaps plug-in, which does the job admirably.

Is Your Keyword Good Enough?

There is a difference between, for instance, ‘how to build a solar panel’ and ‘how to make a solar panel’, even though each phrase appears to say the same thing. Using the Google Keyword Tool, Traffic Travis and another favourite tool, Keyword Elite, it is possible to track down and refine the best keyword phrases for your particular sales pitch. These tools will often suggest keywords that you might not have thought of, and which might be much more productive.

Some keywords tend to be more competitive than others.  Often single or double word phrases are too popular for you to stand much chance of gaining a good page rank. Go for the longer phrases which tend to be less competitive.  They might also tend to be searched less often but, if you have got a good page rank, you will be more likely to get those searchers.

After all, 5 percent of 5,000 searches is better than 0.5 percent of 20,000 searches. This is a numbers game.

Web Page Focus

Good SEO techniques stress the importance of keeping your content focused on what you need to achieve.  You want to keep your visitor interested and in the right frame of mind to buy your product or click your affiliate link.

Most visitors will scan a page and decide within a few seconds whether to continue reading.  Don’t ramble or get carried away with your own rhetoric. We recommend, for instance, saving a new page and re-reading it the next day with a fresh mind. It is surprising how many amendments and improvements you will want to make.

Always remember what it is you are trying to sell – an idea, a product, information – and keep your content entirely fixed on that aim. Only promote one thing on each page, to avoid confusing the reader. And always tell the reader what action to take – Click here, Go to, See.

This is good on-page SEO. If you want to know how to write copy that sells, I have found a great video course to help you.

Suitable Backlinks

The search engines will evaluate your backlinks for suitability before they decide page rank. Clearly, a backlink from an acne cure site to your solar panel site is not really much good.

You will prevent this happening by writing blogs or articles for publication that are properly focused on your chosen keywords. Make this a big part of your SEO training.

Test, Analyse and Test Again

Nobody gets a new page entirely right first time.  It might work, but it can always work better. How do you improve your on-page SEO?

Firstly, keep track of each keyword’s performance.  Traffic Travis has a very good way of doing this, and you will be able to see exactly how each keyword moves up or down the search engines’ rankings. TT also has a backlinks checker, so you can monitor these, either for an entire website or for individual pages. It is a very useful tool, one which I use on a daily basis – search engine optimisation techniques in action!

You will be able to decide if a keyword is working, whether to substitute another and which ones to delete.  Remember to keep track of your actions (I use an Excel spreadsheet specially designed for this) but don’t worry too much about getting things exactly right.

In spite of what the gurus say, this is not an exact science.  Often sales come out of the blue, and you are left wondering how they came about!

Some people are happy to leave a website alone once it is working properly.  I think it is better to monitor and test on a fairly constant basis so that, if possible, every single visitor leads to a sale.

Learn those good SEO techniques and you will see the sales grow day by day, I promise!

Facebook For Beginners

If you are new to Facebook but keen to use it to improve traffic to your online marketing website, then this is Facebook for Beginners – it is an exciting place to be!

Facebook is already the premier social networking site, even outpacing Google for numbers of people using it.  And it really is one of the best ways of generating targeted traffic to your website.

Firstly, it is important to understand the main advantage of Facebook for making money online. This is its viral nature – a horrible word, but it describes how postings can spread exponentially in a very short time. Thus you can, with a simple post (or video), reach a huge and interested audience very quickly.  This, in turn, can produce a lot of targeted traffic straight to your website.

Facebook currently does not provide an instruction manual or any Facebook tutorials to help you use it properly, so you need to find out the hard way.  Or use a really helpful set of start-up videos showing you how to use Facebook:

So, how does Facebook actually work?

Unfortunately FB keeps evolving, which makes it hard to lay down specific rules and procedures.  Each member has to keep on top of things for his or her self.  But Facebook basics are really very simple.

Once you have signed up for a Facebook account, you will have a Wall and a News Feed.  They work as follows.

The Facebook Wall

This is your personal Profile, which can be as simple or extensive as you want.  It can (and should) include photos, videos, thoughts and comments.  Its purpose is to let your friends know all about you and what you are doing in real time.

You control your Wall, what it includes and who has access to it.

The Facebook News Feed

Whenever you log in to your Facebook account you will arrive at your Home page, which is called your News Feed.  Every time you add a comment or picture or whatever to your Wall it shows up on your News Feed.

But here is the key to Facebook. Every time your friends (let’s call them Friends, with a capital F) add to their Walls then their new News Feeds show up on your News Feed as well. So when one Friend makes a comment, all his or her Friends see it and – if allowed by their Facebook settings – all their Friends of Friends see it too.

Suddenly it is possible for literally thousands of Facebook members to see what you have written.

Privacy

Facebook has had a bad press, unjustifiably, on privacy issues.  Don’t worry about your private details being seen by the whole world without your permission. In the process of setting up your account you can set a huge range of permissions for No One, Friends, Friends of Friends and Everyone to have access to every basic detail in your account.

Each setting can be changed at any time, and it is very easy to completely customize your privacy exactly the way you want.

Personal and Fan Pages

Facebook is, primarily, a social networking facility, to let people keep in touch with other people.  There is, currently, a limit of 5,000 Friends that you can have.  Seems a lot?  Not once you get stuck in to finding Friends for your marketing business.

But there is a solution – Fan Pages.

Crucially for Internet marketers, Facebook allows itself to be used for business as well as social purposes.   This is where Fan Pages come in.

Fan Pages have Walls and News Feeds, too, and can seem identical to Personal Pages. There are two huge differences, however:

  • Fan Pages have no limit on friends (they are called Fans who Like you – I know, more Facebook jargon!), and
  • you can have an Opt-in Form on your Fan Page

As you are constantly being reminded, ‘The Money Is In The List’. Facebook lets your Likes opt-in to your list.  This is a great way to make money – for many internet marketers, the only way.

I cover Fan Pages elsewhere in MoneyMakingBuzz, because they are a whole story in themselves and a little beyond this introduction to Facebook.

Warning

One thing you must understand.  Facebook allows you only one account – ever.  If you try to set up a second account, even by mistake, you will be banned for life.  This is why you need to know how to use Facebook and how to use Fan Pages for your marketing activities.

Facebook Basics

Most people simply use Facebook to keep in touch with a small circle of close family and friends. Nothing wrong with that, of course but, in the Internet Marketing world, we are able to get so much more out of it.

Basic Facebook methods include:

  • sending messages to Friends
  • posting regular and compelling comments
  • creating special interest groups or participating in them
  • utilizing the News Feed for subtle marketing
  • using Fan Pages for more direct marketing

Always keep in mind the original and underlining purpose of Facebook – people keeping in touch with people.  Every entry you make in your Wall needs to be natural and personal, as if you are talking face-to-face with someone – which you are.

Put your personality in to your posts, with positive photos and images, and lots of personal details about yourself.  People using Facebook like to know all about other people. It’s like people-watching from a sidewalk café! Conversely, avoid appearing shady or mysterious, because it will make Facebook people suspicious.

And try to be consistent.  Make regular and frequent posts and comments, and make them as interesting or useful as possible.  If people like you and what you have to say, they will become regular visitors to your Wall and Fan Pages.

Facebook for Beginners

There is lots and lots to learn about Facebook, but you don’t have to know it all before you can start to make money online. All newbies have to start somewhere!
The CD ‘Facebook for Beginners’ is a fun and useful way to make that start and to remove some of the cloud of mystery surrounding Facebook.

To give you a taste of what it contains, there are seven short videos put together by an experienced internet marketer, Matt Bush, and covering all the Facebook fundamentals:

  • The advantages of Facebook
  • How to optimize your Facebook account
  • Facebook marketing methods
  • The magic of Fan Pages and Groups
  • Building tips
  • How to build your Facebook presence by adding Friends
  • Networking tips and advice

I hope this Facebook for Beginners has given you an idea of it’s power and a little taste of ways that you can benefit from it to make money online.

It would be difficult to overstate this power and how exciting this single social networking system is.  Even better, very few people have yet managed to take full advantage of it.   Be one of those right now.

Ways To Improve Page Rank

You must constantly strive to improve page rank for your website and each web page within it if you want to make serious money online.

There are a number of ways to improve search engine ranking, all more or less aimed at increasing site or page traffic and getting the right sort of traffic.

I examine these ways in more detail below, but all efforts to improve ranking fall under two main headings:

  • Paid, such as Pay-Per-Click (PPC), with derivatives such as CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) and CPM (Cost Per Thousand Views)
  • Organic, resulting from Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques

There are also some excellent SEO tools available to help improve page rank.  I have been using one, Keyword Elite 2.0, successfully for a couple of years and strongly recommend it for any serious efforts to improve Google ranking. You can check it out here.

Before looking at the various ways to improve page rank, we should examine what page rank is and why it is important for successful online marketing. So what is page rank or, more precisely, PageRank?

According to Wikipedia “PageRank is a link analysis algorithm, named after Larry Page and used by Google, that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of “measuring” its relative importance within the set …The numerical weight that it assigns to any given element E is referred to as the PageRank of E and denoted by PR(E)”.

Google goes further: “PageRank reflects our view of the importance of web pages by considering more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms. Pages that we believe are important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results”.

Thus we can see that PR (PageRank) is only used by Google and is the key to being top of the first page of any search results for a particular keyword. Since Google is likely to be the main search engine for most people looking for something to buy, getting a higher PR is the best way to increase website traffic that is targeted to the product or service you are promoting.

So, what are the ways to improve Google ranking?

Improve Page Rank with PPC

This is the fastest way to increase website traffic.  You pay a search engine to insert a small advertisement on a page of search results for a particular keyword phrase.  Payment is on the basis of a charge for each click or impression on your ad by the searcher, typically a few cents but it can be much greater depending on the popularity of the keyword.

The search engines are very good at predicting the likely traffic that each keyword will generate for your site so, by balancing your budget against the costs for the keywords you want to use, you can bring targeted traffic to your website or web page almost instantly.  This will go some way towards an improved PR.

Personally, I do not like PPC because, unless you know exactly what you are doing, you can lose a lot of money very quickly.  The Internet marketing gurus like PPC, but I am happy to let them get on with it.

Improve Page Rank with other paid methods

Apart from PPC, there are some other paid methods to improve search engine ranking.  CPM (Cost Per Thousand Views) and CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) are both popular but, again, should be left to the experts in my opinion.

Organic Traffic

This is traffic that comes to your website or web page without payment on your part. It does this because the search engines know about your website and conclude that it offers the best result for the keyword being searched.  The problem is that your page needs to have a good PR before it is likely to get that traffic!

Knowing how to get more traffic is known as SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and the basics of SEO can be found here.

SEO involves both on-page and off-page processes. Full details about on-page SEO can be found here and about off-page SEO here, so they do not need repeating.

The great advantage about SEO is that the search engines love a website that they see growing organically.  This translates into improved PR, as far as Google is concerned. The disadvantage is that, almost by definition, ‘organic’ implies ‘slow’.

Google, for instance, tends to be suspicious of any website until it has been operational for at least 6 months.  That is not to say that you will not make any sales or conversions within that time, only to say that getting a high PR will be difficult.

Organic SEO is, without doubt, the way to go if you are serious about Internet marketing and are prepared to take the time to do it properly and professionally.  Like any business you need to invest time and money in order to make money but, in my own experience as well as many others’, such investment is much lower than for any other type of business.

Remember, if you are looking for a really good tool to help you improve page rank for your site, Keyword Elite 2.0 is well worth a look.

Expert Ways To Promote Your Website – On Page SEO

There are several ways to promote your website.  But first, you must make sure that your site is set up correctly for on-page SEO.

This means:

  • It must be interesting and useful for visiting human traffic, AND
  • It must be easy for the search engine robots to find and analyse accurately

These two requirements are often directly opposed, but both need equal attention and focus when writing the page content.

Good content creation requires some experience as well as some copywriting skills but is vital for promoting a site properly.

So, how to promote your site the right way with on-page SEO?

Internet Website Promotion

Start with quality content creation. Get your web pages written first, ensuring that they have lots of interesting and useful content.  You should have at least 20 pages (30 is better), and 400 to 500 words per page. Use images and videos to break up the text, but keep the flow and use notes to make sure you include all the points you need to make.

Always keep the final Call To Action in mind, steering your reader steadily towards that Click Here or Add To Cart button.

Then do the on-page SEO to make sure the search engine robots can fully grasp the gist of your site.  See SEO basics for detailed information, but here are the main points.

On-page SEO For Promoting A Site

Each page should be focused on one specific keyword, with perhaps 4 or 5 supporting keywords that you have selected from your keyword research.

The page will have:

  • A title, with the main keyword, included.  It should be interesting, perhaps a little provocative or eye-catching.
  • A META tag, basically a short description that will show up in search engine summaries.  This should include as many of your keywords as you can fit while still being readable. Aim for at least 60 characters, but no more than 160 (the cut-off point for most search engines).
  • H1, H2 and H3 headings, with the main keywords included as much as possible. This help if a reader is simply scanning the page, and the robots will note them too.
  • A first paragraph with the main keywords included, but do not stuff the text with these.  It must still read easily and sensibly. Some robots do not go beyond the first paragraph, so it should summarise the contents of the whole page just in case.
  • Alternate text with each image or video.  This is still read by the search engine robots so should include your main keyword.  I usually use just that keyword.
  • Anchor text that should either be the main keyword or placed close to the main keyword.

You should make a site map to help the search robots find their way around your website.  If you are using WordPress then the Google XML Sitemaps Generator plugin will do this for you automatically and notify all the major search engines whenever you change anything on your site.  Best of all, it is free!

Also, open an account at Google Webmaster Tools. It is free and has lots of useful tools to help your on-page SEO.

Fine Tuning

When you have set up your web pages and published them, it is a good idea to do some fine tuning.  And repeat this every time you change or update a page.  The process involves doing an SEO analysis on each page, using a tool such as Traffic Travis.  This will show where and what you need to improve in order to make the page good from an SEO point of view.

Also, you can get a good idea of how to promote a website by looking at some of your competition.  See how they do their on-page SEO, especially if they are ranking higher than you.

Check your statistics, but do not become enslaved by them.  It is not worth taking any action, in my opinion, until you are seeing at least 100 visitors a day to the web page.  Once at that level, however, you will be able to judge such things as conversion rates, refund rates and the success or otherwise of the products or services you are promoting.

This is a constant job.  Revisit each page on a regular basis, perhaps once a month.  You might want to do some testing by, say, changing keywords or anchor text.  Always keep a record of these tests, incidentally, so that you can go back to the original if results are disappointing.

On-page SEO and good content creation are only one side of the story.  See also my article about Off-page SEO.  But they are where you have to start for good internet website promotion.

Expert Ways To Promote A Website – Off Page SEO

Promoting a website involves a number of off-page SEO techniques, as well as the on-page work discussed elsewhere. Indeed, off-page SEO will probably account for as much as 70% of your optimisation work, so getting it right is super-important for promoting a site.

The aim of off-page SEO is to build solid backlinks to your site and also to build a reputation within your niche. Relationships with webmasters, other people interested in your niche and even some of your competitors are all good for your business and will ultimately be the major factor in your online marketing success.

One of the best ways to promote a website is to write free content articles for use by other webmasters and blog editors, known as syndication.

These will put your online copywriting skills to good use since nobody will be happy with the poorly written content.

Providing free content might seem like a lot of work – and it is! – but the rewards are great if you do it properly.  Many target sites require unique content but do not be put off by this.  You can easily change some words, or move paragraphs around, and use the same article many times over.  It is well worth the effort and will slowly build some good backlinks to your web pages.

It will probably lead to requests for doing some guest blogging, again a great way to build backlinks.

How To Promote A Website

So, if you want to know how to promote a website, the most important step is to provide free content in as many places as possible.  And do this continually, on a regular basis, so that you develop sites that you like and who like you. One of the best is Ezines, an article directory with an excellent standard and reputation.  Just make sure you comply with their rather tough editorial guidelines.

Submit your site to the good site directories such as DMOZ. This task can be spread over time and will not produce instant results.  It is worth the effort, however, for the strong backlinks generated.

Another slow but rewarding promotional task is to ask for links from other sites. These should be complementary to your own site and should have reasonably good page rank.  Webmasters at the best and busiest sites will probably be unhelpful, but you can get good results with some of the lesser ones. And you can also offer to guest blog.  You should be prepared to show some examples of content you have already created.

Social Networks

Social networks are now very popular for promoting a website. These include Twitter, Facebook, Hubpages, Squidoo and many others.  Also niche forums and blogs.  Each has its own way of doing things and rules about what linking it will allow. Find 4 or 5 that you feel comfortable with, and let people get to know you before you start to steer them towards your website.

The best way of approaching social network sites is to give rather than take.  You need to want to help others, to give useful information, to over-deliver with no expectation of reward.  Once you do this and are seen to do this, you will be amazed how much you get in return.  Building relationships and being seen as an expert in your particular niche will be more valuable than any other efforts you make to promote your website.

Email Newsletters

Building a list of people interested in your website is one of the most lucrative ways of website promotion. If done properly it gets great results.  The secret is not to over-sell and to mail on a regular basis.  A good rule is to include a product or service promotion in every fifth email newsletter you send out.  The others will be simple informational newsletters, with the sole aim of keeping your name in front of the potential customer and building trust.

Paid Advertising

There are lots of ways to promote a website through paid advertising, the most common being PPC (Pay Per Click). I am not a great fan of this type of promotion, mainly because it is so easy to lose a whole lot of money very quickly.  Done correctly, however, it is certainly the quickest way to promote your site and its products or services. Just be very careful if you decide to go this route.

What Is The Key To Promoting A Website?

The recurring theme in all these ways to promote a website is Great Content. Write good copy and you will get sales, it is as simple that.

Best Way To Make A Good Online Income

Did you wake up this morning and say: ‘I need money – TODAY!’ Did you wonder if you could earn money from home by doing something on the Internet (an immensely popular thought these days)? Well, the good news is that there are many ways you can make an online income.  The bad news?  There isn’t any!

If you are looking for ways to get money fast you might have a slightly harder time of it.  For most people, getting an online income takes a little time because it usually requires some learning first.  But none of this is very difficult, and for most of us in this business it is a whole lot of fun.

The Best Online Income System  – Affiliate Marketing

In my experience the best way to make money online is through affiliate marketing.  This costs virtually nothing to get started, requires no knowledge or experience of the wider business world, and is very easy to learn.

What is an affiliate and what does he or she market?   This is where you find someone who is selling a product or service online (the Vendor) and who has an affiliate program.  You register as an Affiliate with this program and promote the vendor’s product or service.  When you make a sale the vendor will pay you a commission.

The beauty of this system is that the affiliate does not have to shoulder any of the normal business sales costs such as buying and stocking inventory, hiring staff, packaging, mailing, guaranteeing and refunding, customer support, complaints and so on.  All the affiliate does is find the customers.

How much commission?  That depends on the product you are promoting.  Retail merchandise such as gaming platforms and accessories, cameras, electronics and other ‘tangible’ products have a small profit margin so commissions on sales are also small.  If you sign up as an Amazon affiliate, for instance, you will get a seemingly tiny 4 or 5 per cent – but this will apply to everything bought by your customer.  How many times have you dropped in to Amazon looking for one thing and then been lured into buying all sorts of other interesting items?  You get the point.

I started as an affiliate, like most people, by promoting digital information products.  Because there is virtually no cost involved in producing such items and because they usually sell in the 40 to 50 dollar range, the vendor can afford to offer his affiliates a good commission and still make a handsome profit himself. These are usually in the 50 to 75 per cent range, often with extra bonuses thrown in as rewards for multiple sales.

Earnings

It is quite easy to earn 500 dollars a week on a regular basis from a very simple affiliate marketing program and without any advanced training or experience. Many people do.

Digital products are very popular ways to get money fast for affiliates.  The buyer can pay for and download his purchase instantly, which is very satisfying.  No waiting for the mail or FedEx to get that exciting set of plans to build his chicken coop! And the affiliate makes an instant commission.

So I Need Money, What Do I Do?

This is my suggestion to get an online income fast.

  • Find a good affiliate program.  The easiest and safest way is Clickbank, possibly the world’s largest and most respected agency that puts vendors and affiliates together. It runs the whole sales process, from vetting the vendor products through the handling of each sale and – most importantly from your point of view – paying your commissions regularly and on time.  Not all vendors, outside of Clickbank, are as reliable.
  • Register as an affiliate, read as much about the vendor’s product as you can, download all the banners and other promotional material that he provides, and start promoting.

How Do I Promote?

It is possible to promote products without having your own website, but I strongly advise you go the extra mile and build one for yourself.  This will give you much greater credibility in the marketplace, you will have better control of how you are marketing, and you will have a good platform to base yourself for other types of online selling later on.

There is plenty of more detailed information about how to do all this here at MoneyMakingBuzz, such as:

Are There Any Good Tutorial Programs?

How To Write Copy That Sells

Unless you can afford the services of expensive professional copywriters, learning how to write copy yourself is vital for successful conversions.  Good copywriters use carefully chosen words in an interesting and effective way to persuade the reader to do something.  Most likely this will be a Call To Action, which could lead to a sale on some other website.  This is known as a Conversion, and is the way affiliates make money online.  That is why copywriting SEO is a skill essential to long-term success online for most of us.

If visitors take one look at your headline and click away from the page, or the first few lines of content fail to grab them, there will be few or no conversions.  No online income ….

But if you could learn to make profit-pulling sales letters and watch your conversions EXPLODE, would you be interested?  And if you found this process so easy that anyone capable of operating a keyboard could do it?  OK.

See?  The first Call To Action! However, if you are still reading this, I might not have succeeded (yet!) in showing you how to learn the simple copywriting lessons you need for online creative writing before you can make serious money from internet marketing.

At the very least, you need to know:

  • How to nail the attention of visitors rapidly (and keep it until they click that button!).  The wording of your headline is super-important here.
  • The best fonts, text colors and styles to get a dramatic effect on conversion rates (50% or as much as 300% improvement is quite possible). For instance, black text on a white background is much better than any other color combination for readability.
  • When to use a long sales letter or a short one and why.  The answer is not always what you might expect, and has to do with how serious your visitor really is about improving his or her knowledge.
  • How to identify the needs of readers correctly and forge a bond with them.  Without a high degree of trust, your visitor is unlikely to stay with you all the way to the purchase button.

Knowing how to write copy means using the right words in an engaging and convincing manner that leads directly to successful conversions.  The search engines pick up on this and your page ranking improves.  This, in turn, improves the traffic to that page.  More visitors, more conversions.  And so on, a wonderful example of Cause and Effect.

The best effect of all will be to your bank balance!
